1 1 This standard specifies type, dimension and technical requirements of reinforcing pad of steel pressure vessels shell for opening reinforcement.
1.2 The following conditions shall be provided when this standard is used in the condition that the steel pressure vessels shell opening is reinforced by reinforcing pad structure:
a) Design pressure of vessel is less than 6.4MPa;
b) Design temperature of vessel is not larger than 350℃;
c) Nominal thickness δn of vessel shell opening is less than or equal to 38mm;
d) Lower limit value of standard tensile strength of vessel shell steel is not larger than 540MPa;
e) Reinforcing pad thickness shall not be larger than 1.5 times the nominal thickness of shell at opening.
1.3 This standard is not preferred to be used for the vessel made of chromium molybdenum steel or the vessel filled with extremely-hazardous and highly-hazardous media.
1.4 This standard is not applicable to the vessels bearing fatigue loads.
