1.0.1 This code was formulated in order to reasonably design the water spray extinguishing system, reduce the fire hazard and protect the personal and property safety.
1.0.2 This code applies to the design of the water spray extinguishing system for the production and storage devices or the handling facilities in the construction, extension and renovation engineering; but it does not apply to the design of means of transportation or the movable water spray extinguishing devices.
1.0.3 Water spray extinguishing system may be used to extinguish the solid fire, the liquid fire with flash point above 60℃ and the electric fire. And it also may be used for the protection and cooling of the production and storage devices or handling facilities of combustible gases and liquid of Class A, B and C.
1.0.4 Water spray extinguishing system shall not be used to extinguish the fire that will cause combustion and explosion through chemical reaction on meeting water as well as the fire where the water mist will cause severe damages to the protected object.
1.0.5 In addition to implement those specified in this code, the design of water spray extinguishing system still shall comply with those specified in the current relevant standards and codes of the state.
