This standard specifies the terms and definitions related to connection types and dimensions for gas cylinder valve outlets, determination principles of gas cylinder valve outlets, connection types and dimensions and description of various gas cylinder valve outlets, etc.
This standard is applicable to cylinder valves equipped on cylinders for permanent gas, liquefied gas, dissolved gas, etc.
This standard is not applicable to the outlet and connecting piece of low temperature gas and respirator gas cylinder valve.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions established in GB/T 13005 and the following apply.
3.1
gas mixture
purposeful mixture of two or more gases and/or liquefied gases filled in the gas cylinder
3.2
numerical gas code (FTSC)
FTSC code of gas is the abbreviation composed of the first letter of English phrases for flammability, toxicity, state and corrosiveness of gas. FTSC code is composed of four numbers in sequence, directly indicating the basic characteristics of each gas.
4 Principle of the determination of valve outlets
4.1 Basic principle
This standard establishes a method of allocating to any gas or mixture of gases contained in cylinders, four-digit code numbers (FTSC). This code number categorizes the gas or gas mixture in terms of its physical/chemical properties and/or flammability, toxicity, state of the gas and corrosiveness (see Sub-clause A.1).
The FTSC code enables a gas or gas mixture to be assigned to one of the 15 “compatible” gas groups (see Sub-clause A.2) to enable the valve outlet connections to be allocated to each group.
