1.0.1 This specification is established to keep the design, construction, acceptance, operation and management of water supply and drainage engineering in line with principles of advanced technology, safety and reliability, economy and rationality, hygienic and environmental protection, energy and water efficiency, etc.
1.0.2 This specification is applicable to the design, construction, acceptance, operation, maintenance and management of water supply and drainage engineering for newly-built, renovated and extended swimming pool for which fresh water is used as raw water.
1.0.3 The design for water supply and drainage engineering of swimming pool shall cooperate closely with those of such disciplines as civil work, air conditioning, electrical, sports technology and water amusement equipment so as to ensure rational design and compliance with the requirements of hygiene, safety and application.
1.0.4 Any equipment, instrumentation, chemicals, pipes and fittings selected in the design of water supply and drainage engineering of swimming pool shall meet the requirements of relevant current national product standards.
1.0.5 For the design, construction, acceptance, operation, maintenance and management of water supply and drainage engineering of swimming pool, not only this specification shall be implemented but also the requirements specified in relevant current national standards shall be met.
2 Terms and Symbols
2.1 Terms
2.1.1 Swimming pool
The pool built in different shapes and different depth, which is intended for various aquatic activities, e.g. swimming, body building, playing and entertainment, and also the generic term for competition swimming pool, public swimming pool, special swimming pool, private swimming pool and recreation pool.
2.1.2 Competition swimming pool
The water pool intended for competition, whose dimensions, depth and installations meet the requirements of corresponding competition level and which is acknowledged by the sports administration or organization of corresponding competition. It is opened to the public during non- competition period.
2.1.3 Public swimming pool
The swimming pool located in such places as community, enterprise, school, hotel and club, which is intended for the use of those people in those areas and organizations and may be opened to other publics or provide services for amateur competition, swimming training and education.
2.1.4 Warmup pool
The water pool which is located nearby a competition swimming pool of or above national level and is intended for warm-up of swimming participants prior to the competition. Its dimensions and depth shall meet the requirements of corresponding competition level and be acknowledged by the competition organizer.
2.1.5 Special swimming pool
The swimming pool which is intended for athlete training, professional education, diver, special training and exclusive use of clubs and is not open to the public. The plan size, water depth and shape of such swimming pool are determined according to the use requirements.
